My name is Chrissy. I am a writer, artist, photographer, and mom.
I was born and raised in San Diego, California, have lived in North Carolina and currently live in Florida. Every since I can remember, I have loved anything that has to do with art and being creative. The great thing about being a self-proclaimed artist, is that no matter where I go, this can always be my job.
I love to write. I used to write poetry just because I was bored, but more recently, have written poems for special occasions for family and friends. A friend asked me to write a poem to go into a frame as a wedding favor. The same friend asked me to write a poem to tell her parents she was having a baby. Some of my art projects have also included poems to compliment the work. Someday, I hope to write a kids novel and maybe short stories.
I love to paint. I have painted everything from canvas to wood to entire walls. I painted old school-like tattoos on my daughter's wall, a chef in my kitchen, and palm trees on my "nephew's" wall. I've painted Tinker Bell on my sister-in-laws closet doors and various canvas pieces for friends and family.
I love to sew. I don't use patterns, I just go with the flow when I sew. I sew things for the kitchen, pot holders and place mats, and I sew baby items, changing pads, breastfeeding covers, and pillows. My most recent sewing project was curtains for a friend's kitchen as a thank you for babysitting my dogs.
I love photography. I have always loved to take pictures, and now that I have a child, my camera is like my arm. I have taken family pictures of many of my friends, and also taken pregnancy pictures of my best friend. When you look through my pictures you will notice that some of them have an "artsy" look to them. I try to show off both of my talents at one time.
I love making jewelry. This is my new favorite way to be creative. My mom told me that she had a lot of beads to make bracelets and earrings. I invaded her stash and haven't stopped. I love earrings; I have my ears pierced 9 times. I have earrings, bracelets, watches, and necklaces for sale and also sets of them combined.
I love being a mom!! I am a stay-at-home mom and it really is the best job in the world. I wouldn't change a thing about staying at home with my daughter. The best part, she is at the age now where she also wants to be creative. She loves to paint and color and has even tried to help me make earrings. She is my little artist.
